Bright, shiny day today and so there's light fx stuff, both a brush set and yet another set of light texture bases. The brushes come from older sets, there's 11 in total, and all but four of them have been reworked from the older sets:

A question: does anyone know of an icon community for posting comic book icons, specifically Vertigo-related? I've been making icons from the Lucifer series, and I'd like to post them where fans of the series can easily find them.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a community for these kinds of icons. The comic icon communities I ran across are geared more toward the popular superhero fandoms.

I'm not a prolific icon-maker, so I have little interest in joining icon challenge/contest types of communities. I'm mostly just looking for the best place to match the icons with the fandom. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Another "brush maker's choice" post, this one culling out some of my favorite tiny borders and simple frames. Good for stock photo icons! There's nine example icons under the cut, and they're all using a border or frame from these two sets. :p

The bases are mine and all are uploaded except the skeleton (that one is part of a Halloween set I'm still working on.) Icons are up for grabs if interested.

Some of the brushes used at blend mode normal, some at screen, others at overlay and soft light. If you have questions about how I used any of them, just ask. I'll probably remember. :)

Experiment time!

I have uploaded lots of photo-ish brushes, and so I went through them and pulled five I like and use the most. I think this set includes brushes from posts as far back as April 2005.

However, I've edited these brushes a bit. Whether you use them as masking brushes or just select-delete the solid black area, they should work a little more cleanly than the older versions.
